Hello. Thanks for checking out my website. My name is Amanda Carr and I am a mother, wife, educator, lactation consultant, postpartum and infant care doula, movie and book lover. I grew up in Petaluma and am currently living here with my husband and two kids. I love living in Petaluma because no matter how big the town gets, I still run into people I know at Trader Joe's and it feels really small again. 

 

A passion for birth and breastfeeding started while pregnant with my first child which led me to get certified to teach childbirth and breastfeeding classes while pregnant with my second baby. I exclusively breastfed both of my children and was fortunate to be able to continue our breastfeeding relationship until they were toddlers. I started working with soon-to-be parents as a Childbirth and Lactation Educator in 2008. I currently work part-time teaching some classes and providing lactation support at Kaiser Permanente, a company I have worked at for over 20 years.

 

I became an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant to be an expert in the field of lactation so I can help parents reach their breastfeeding/chestfeeding goals no matter what obstacles get in the way. My true focus is that of the birthing parent. I know firsthand how challenging it be having a newborn. 

 

My goals are to support and empower families before and after birth. I can help you with breastfeeding challenges and together we will come up with a plan that works for you and your family.  I am a certified postpartum and infant care doula and can come support you in your home so you can enjoy and connect with your baby during the newborn period. I am committed to working with parents to ease the transition to parenthood.
